The Mission
Redefining the student housing experience in the Netherlands by making it safer, more accessible, and stress-free.
Problem
Currently, the Netherlands is facing a severe housing crisis, especially because of the increasing number of international students coming to study at its top universities. Finding housing has never been a more difficult and frustrating process due to: - Unreliable housing websites that require paid subscriptions but provide no guarantee of success. - Inaccessible and costly housing agencies that pick only the students with the financial situations that can pay for their unaffordable services. - Unsafe free platforms, like Facebook and Whatsapp, where listings are filled with scams, exploiting students in stressful situations. Additionally, many first-time international students lack knowledge about the housing process, making the experience even more challenging. This creates a cycle of stress, financial strain, and vulnerability for students trying to secure housing.
The Solution
We aim to transform the student housing experience in the Netherlands by tackling unreliability, inaccessibility, and safety concerns. Our solution includes: - Providing free, practical advice through social media, featuring student stories, expert interviews, and e-books on housing strategies, as well as a free newsletter with weekly updates on the housing market. - Developing a free-to-use housing platform, with a success-based fee only for those who secure housing. - Launching a mentorship program to teach effective housing strategies through live cohorts, videos, and exclusive resources. - Building a supportive community to unite students and drive lasting change in the Dutch housing system.
