The Mission
To create engaging, player-first games that prioritise well-being, offering fun without fostering addiction, but still being a sustainable business model
Problem
Modern mobile games often rely on addictive mechanics like daily quests, gacha pulls with lootboxes, and FOMO-driven events to drive retention (Fear Of Missing Out), negatively impacting players' mental well-being. And this arguably unethical approach prioritises profits over player' health, creating a cycle of compulsion rather than enjoyment
The Solution
We propose a "Healthy Retention Model" that rewards players for taking breaks and implementation of new Key Performance Indicators that could be managed by the artificial intelligence in regards to each unique user through the means of interaction withing each game. Drawing inspiration from idle games, where progression continues even when players are offline. Our design priorities long-term engagement through thoughtful content updates, milestone-based rewards, and play-at-your-pace mechanics. This model balances business growth with ethical player retention, fostering healthier player habits!
